A Star City Sample

This post is going to piggyback on our musical summer post. We talk a lot about the Star City Syndicate but don’t post enough of the group actually playing.

Here are two clips of the same song filmed about a month apart (which means one or two practices apart) in the same space. I arranged the Ides of March song Vehicle myself for the group and it’s pretty quickly become a crowd pleaser! Ignore the stalker-esque lyrics, it’s a fun tune I promise!

Star City Syndicate (Ides of March) – Vehicle at Ashland District School (informal)

A couple comments about this take.

  1. Both were filmed in front of an audience but this crowd was small.
  2. One trumpet player was not at this performance.
  3. Guitar solo is too soft in this one.
  4. The stage lights really make my bald head stick out…

A couple comments about this take.

  1. What a difference a bit of practice (and a bigger audience) makes.
  2. Guitar solo is really kicking.
  3. I think my head looks better.
  4. You can see why we speak so highly of the group. Even if you don’t care for the sound you can tell we have fun.
