That’s right, I’m feeling good! The past few weeks you have heard from Jon about the projects he has been working on in the music studio. This week it is my turn to update you on the progress I’ve been making in the sewing studio. I’ve wrapped up quite a few UFOs (unfinished objects) lately.
I’ll start with two baby quilts I’ve made for friends. One is having a boy and the other a girl! I used a jelly roll for the blue quilt and a variety of fat quarters for the pink. Both quilts are a finished size of 36″ square and I quilted them myself. Notice the pink quilt has a small version to go with it? The childhood friend I gifted this to used to play dolls with me growing up. We loved our dolls so I made a matching doll quilt for her to give her little girl with her first doll.
Next is a Valentine’s wall hanging. I’ve had the top pieced together for about a year but finally took the time to layer and quilt it!
For my birthday, my mum took a quilt top that I had pieced and had it quilted on a long arm for me! It came out beautifully! I’ve had it back since last fall, but again finally took the time to put the binding on. It is super soft, the perfect size for snuggling on the couch and looks great in our living room along with this painting I did a couple years back. I love the dragonflies.
Lastly, my most recent project has been sewing unpaper towels. As you know, we try to limit waste as much as possible. This was our next step. They didn’t take long to whip up, but I am going to change the metal snaps out for a plastic variety that will attach tighter. Live and learn!
